![]() While that description makes the game sound isn't. You’re helped along by Thora’s narration and occasionally by helpful hints from the gods themselves. It’s a top-down adventure game where you battle against massive enemies using skill, strategy, and your trusty axe. Jotun is somewhat along the lines of Shadow of the Colossus, if it were done in the style of Bastion. If you save both charges of Gungnir for the very end to burst him down, you can effectively negate his ability to summon all five at once. This serves as a central hub, and gives an idea of the sheer scope of the in-game world. Finally, you don't want to use Gungnir throughout the fight as you would have noticed by running through it normally, he summons more Giants at a time the lower his health pool is. This phase is also when you want Heimdallr - he lets you stay longer on Odin before you have to peel away to evade the attacks of the Giants. Try to save some charges of Freyja for around this time so you can get the most out of Thor. I saved Mjolnir for once he starts summoning the apparitions of the Giants, as that is when he spends the longest time standing still. Also, be careful when you deploy the clone if you deploy it too early, it will run out before it takes all the spears, and if you deploy it too late, you will still be harmed by the first spear! Once you get to the point where you aren't sure if you can manage to safely dodge the spears flying around, invoke Loki a bit before the spear gets to you and roll away from the clone he spawns it can tank the shots from Gungnir while you attack Odin. ![]() I wouldn't suggest using Heimdallr to block shots unless you desperately need it, as it pushes you around far too much for you to be able to harm Odin. In addition, Freyja can in several cases run faster than they can turn, but you don't want to start running too early. ![]() They're a bit difficult to dodge if you use the dodgeroll to roll to either side of it perpendicularly just before it gets to you, it will pass by without harming you. When I first did Odin, I didn't know you could destroy his spears, so I had to learn how to avoid/block them. To give back to the thread, I'll give what help I can with Gungnirphobia. Mainly because I forgot the big dwarves throw their hammers. Originally posted by ClockworkXI:I'll give you an hint for Fe'sbee, you can return the shield she throw. Hagalaz seems a bit rough too with only 60 seconds, I will try her next I guess I'm not sure how I can do the time trials for Odin and Kaunan, mostly because they move very quick between each time frame we have to hit them. Haven't tried any other challenge for the moment. I used thor as I used the odin's spear, but I'm not sure the dmg boost is working on it :oĪlso I wonder if I can use just the first dmg while activating thor power or will it be considered as melee damage ? Maybe I'm missing something to make it quicker. I took too much damage on the long run and couldn't do it. I was able to go to the last phase with the pillars and could get some good chunk on her life going down but still too much life left after all the pillars were down ^^ So I begin with odin's spear to get Fé invoking the big dwarfs and then I reflect the flying hammers. I figured I could hit the flying hammer from the big dwarves and try to hit Fé with hit. Having a safe spot right at the beginning to burst with it and skip one or two phases (if you can make 2 freya/thor combo right at the beginning it does the trick). Mostly burst damage with freay+thor powers is the key here. I managed to get the time trials on Jera and Isa. ![]()
